Mission1
The United Church of Christ in Warminster is making a difference in our community!
The UCC Mission1 program was crafted by the national UCC church to fight hunger in the local communities, the nation and the world. The significance of the number 1 is "Unity" ... derived from the UCC motto "That all may be one."
We are gathering and donating our goal of 111 food packages every week for 11 weeks (thru Thanksgiving weekend) to Hope Outreach UCC Ministries in Kensington Philadelphia! Mother Tart manages the food pantry at Hope and would like to express her deepest gratitude for UCCW's generosity!
Each Sunday all attendees of UCCW's worship service offer their food gifts to God, at the altar where the food is blessed. Then, after the Sunday service, the food is delivered to Hope Outreach UCC. (see schedule on right sidebar)
UCC's "Neighbor's In Need" Fund
The annual Neighbor's in Need (NIN) fund is also being supported by the UCC's Mission1 to fight hunger in East Africa. Each member of UCCW has been asked to contribute $11 toward NIN and join the fight. Our goal is at least $1,111 or 121 donations of $11. Lets do it!
The UCCW Mission Outreach Committee, with the help of the UCC's Mission1 project, has found a special way to direct the vast generosity of our congregation and community toward attacking hunger. YOU can join … become a part of Mission1. It's all about 1, unity.
