Question: What exactly is the United Church of Christ?
Answer:
The United Church of Christ is a community of Christians under Christ, the sole head of the church. We are a mainline denomination that was formed in 1957 when the four denominations united in ecumenical unity: the German Reformed Church of the U.S., the Evangelical Synod in North America, the Congregations churches, and the Christian churches. The goal of the United Church of Christ is to be joined together in one church on earth with all who share allegiance to Christ.
